A Comprehensive Guide to Managing Your Cloud Server Account and Exploring Its Features

Cloud computing has revolutionized the way businesses manage their infrastructure. In this article, we will explore various aspects of cloud management, covering topics such as server provisioning, network configuration, security measures, load balancing, resource allocation, billing, and more. Whether you're a seasoned cloud user or new to the technology, this guide will help you harness the full potential of the cloud.

This comprehensive guide offers step-by-step instructions and insights for effectively managing your Cloud Server account.

Step-1: Log into our Client-area Page: N6 Cloud Client-Area Page!

Step-2: Open your server, services>>Cloud Server>>Cloud

List Servers: Cloud platforms provide the ability to easily list and manage servers. Learn how to view and access the servers within your cloud environment, allowing you to monitor their status, access them remotely, and perform administrative tasks.

Please refer to our Knowledgebase to see how to add a new server: How to Add a New Server!

This is how your new Server page will look like. Once you have a server ready you can use the features like network configuration, SSH Keys, Port Forwarding, Set up VPN, security measures, load balancing, resource allocation, billing, and more.

Network Configuration: Understanding network configuration is essential for optimizing your cloud infrastructure. Explore how to set up virtual networks, assign IP addresses to servers, and configure subnets and routing tables to establish secure and efficient communication within your cloud environment.

Cloud IP address: Once you added a new server and instances your IP address will automatically be created for you. N6 Cloud provides a feature to add up to 10 additional IPs initially. You can perform functions like inbound firewall, port forwarding, set up VPN and you can also delete the IP address.

Firewall and Security: Implementing robust security measures is paramount in the cloud. Discover how to configure firewalls to control inbound and outbound traffic, establish secure access rules, and protect your servers from unauthorized access.

In order for you to manger your Cloud services with N6 Cloud you need to update these rules so, you can enjoy services with N6 Cloud!

To learn more about how to add these rules please refer to our article: How to add an Ingress/Egress Rules!

With N6 Cloud you can add Ingress and Egress Rules to the firewall.

Ingress Firewall Rules: Ingress firewall rules control inbound network traffic to the server. These rules specify which IP addresses, ports, or protocols are allowed to access the server.

Egress Firewall Rules: Egress firewall rules govern outbound network traffic from the server. These rules determine the destinations, ports, or protocols that the server can communicate with externally.

By setting up both ingress and egress firewall rules, you can establish fine-grained control over the network communication of your cloud server. This allows you to enforce security policies, restrict access to sensitive services or ports, and protect your server from potential threats or unauthorized access attempts.

VPN SETUP:  It involves establishing a secure and encrypted connection between your local network and the cloud infrastructure. By configuring a VPN, you create a private network over the public internet, ensuring secure communication and data transfer between your local devices and the cloud server.

With a VPN, you can securely access your cloud server as if it were physically connected to your local network. This enables you to transmit sensitive data,

access resources, and manage your cloud infrastructure with enhanced privacy and security.

With N6 Cloud VPN setup you can enable VPN for each IP address and also can assign multiple VPN users

Port Forwarding: Port forwarding is a networking technique that allows incoming network traffic destined for a specific port on a router or firewall to be redirected to a different port on a device within a local network. It enables external access to services hosted on devices behind a network's firewall, allowing users to access specific applications or services from the internet.

Learn how to add Port forwarding with N6 Cloud step by step here!

By configuring port forwarding, incoming traffic destined for a particular port on the external IP address of the network is redirected to a specified internal IP address and port on a device within the local network. This enables external users or devices to access services such as web servers, remote desktop connections, or file-sharing services hosted on devices that are not directly accessible from the internet.

Load Balancing: Load balancing is a technique used to distribute incoming network traffic across multiple servers or resources. It helps optimize resource utilization, improve performance, and ensure high availability by evenly distributing the workload among servers. This enables efficient handling of incoming requests, prevents overloading of individual servers, and enhances overall system performance.

When load balancing is implemented, incoming requests or network traffic are distributed across multiple servers or resources in a balanced manner. This balancing can be achieved through various algorithms that determine how the traffic is routed and distributed.

N6 Cloud allows you to use algorithms like Round-robin, Source, and, Least Connections. You can also assign the protocols TCP, UDP, and TCP-Proxy. In the last step choose the VM Assignment you required.

SSH Keys: Utilize SSH keys for secure authentication when accessing your cloud servers. Learn how to generate and manage SSH key pairs, enhancing the security and convenience of your server access.

Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources such as CPU, memory, and storage to meet the demands of your applications. Explore how to scale resources based on workload fluctuations, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.

You can Upgrade and downgrade resource allocation. Just press the button to follow the process. This is how you can track your resources.

Billing and Cost Optimization: Understand the billing model and cost structure of your cloud provider. Learn how to monitor resource consumption, set budget alerts, and optimize your cloud usage to minimize costs. Explore options for analyzing cost data and leveraging cost management tools provided by the cloud platform.
