A Hostname is the name of a server on a network. It helps to identify different servers on your network.
The hostname you choose must be different from any domain hosted on your server. For instance, if you have a domain called food.com on your server, you should use a fully qualified hostname like:
hostname.food.com

hostnamectl
Step:-2 Set a new Hostname
hostnamectl set-hostname my.new-hostname.server
Make sure to replace my.new-hostname.server with your chosen hostname.
Step:-3 Check the Hostname
hostnamectl
If the hostname is not changed then follow the below steps.
Step:-4 Edit the /etc/hosts file
nano /etc/hosts
look for the IP beginning with 127.0.0.1. it will look like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost 4 localhost4.localdomain4 old. hostname, Change the entry old.hostname to my.new-hostname.server, save, and exit.
Step:-5 Reboot and check the hostname again
